About Cuatro Puntos
Cuatro Puntos ("four points" in Spanish) is a non-profit organization that works to amplify persecuted, silenced or underrepresented musicians and their unique styles of music.
As an internationally reaching organization based in Connecticut since 2012, Cuatro Puntos works with musicians from any part of the world where they are targeted, silenced, or persecuted because of the type of music they make. We build long-term relationships that significantly support the musician(s) and meaningfully amplify their music and message on an international scale. We also work to bring their message and music home to Connecticut via live events and local partnerships.
We have worked with musicians hailing from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Bolivia, Brazil, Ukraine, Egypt, Kurdistan, Turkey, Iran, Israel and underrepresented communities in the USA. We work both with musicians who have been displaced to the USA, and with musicians who are still defying persecution in their own country. We have also assisted in relocating artists to the USA and advocating for their establishment as part of our country's creative economy.
International attention on our work has catapulted several of our albums to the the top 1% of most listened to in the world on Spotify. The quality of our work has been praised around the world, with airtime and interviews on NPR, BBC, and glowing reviews by Fanfare Magazine. We've presented at New England Conservatory (Boston), Columbia University (New York), Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (Germany), and Goldsmiths College (London), Yale (Connecticut), University of Hartford (Connecticut), & Syracuse University (New York).
When we went to Afghanistan to record the country's first all-female orchestra and release their music on the international Toccata Classics label, Blackmore Vale Magazine wrote: "At a time when we are bombarded every day by images of the world in crisis, The Rosegarden of Light is a joyful celebration of musicians who share a fundamental right to express themselves through the universal language of music.”
Our album discography chronicles our most in-depth projects, and are published on Naxos, Toccata Classics, Métier, and Arkadash labels:
