The Journey of the Anemoi: Mozart and music from around the globe
Anemoi are mythical Greek gods of the wind- each anemoi represents a wind from a different part of the world. This chamber music concert features the world premiere of Anemoi by Daniel Morel- written specifically for Cuatro Puntos to represent the way the ensemble works to bring together people, ideas, and culture from different parts of the world. This premier will be paired with other music from various parts of the world including the Flute Quartet in D Major, K. 285 of W.A. Mozart; the Concertino for Flute, viola, and double bass by Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff; some short pieces by Japanese composer Kohei Kondo; an Argentinian tango, and even some folk music from Afghanistan.
